Chapter 4 in Of Mice and Man, paints a very realistic portrait of
racism in the 1930s. Discuss at least two ways in which racism is
explored in this chapter. Include quotes and your own analysis of key
moments in this chapter that clearly demonstrate the racism that existed
in the American 1930s. What do readers understand about racism as a
result of reading this chapter?
Racism in the 1930s was a big challenged to many Americans at that time period. In the first place was the meaning of racism it means a belief or doctrine that inherent differences among the various human races determine cultural or individual achievement, usually involving the idea that one's own race is superior and has the right to rule
one example of racism it says in chapter four "cause I'm black they play cards in there but i cant play because am black they say i stink" in this place people are racists to him because he is black and he stinks which they are being unfair to crooks
The second one to says that "a colored man got to have some rights even if he don't like them" this means at that time only white had rights that the other people were not included to their level .
racism is being explored in many ways.
